The WBM series self-sealing quick connectors are engineered for rapid pressure and vacuum testing of straight pipes, flanged round pipes, and specialty tubular profiles. Each connector creates an instant, repeatable seal on the outer diameter of a pipe without requiring threaded interfaces or additional clamping tools. The series covers a sealing range from 0.80 mm to 31.0 mm in diameter, organized across four outline dimension sizes to accommodate different pipe gauges and installation envelopes. Corresponding plugging cap versions are available for sealing-only applications.
The WBM series incorporates a self-adaptive sealing ring that conforms to the outer diameter of the test pipe, accommodating a wide range of dimensional tolerances within each model's sealing range. This design eliminates the need for model swaps when testing pipes with minor diameter variations and reduces setup time on multi-product lines. The connector also seals straight pipes with small ventilation holes, expanding its utility across tubular component types.
The sealing mechanism is designed to engage the pipe surface without causing damage to the test pipe fittings. The NBR seal compresses radially against the pipe outer wall, distributing contact pressure evenly and avoiding scoring or deformation that could affect subsequent assembly steps. This is particularly relevant for finished or coated pipes where surface integrity must be preserved.
Connection is achieved through a handle-driven mechanism. The operator inserts the test piece into the connector, rotates the handle by 90 degrees to engage the seal, and then applies test pressure. After testing, the handle is rotated back 90 degrees to release the connection. This actuation method requires no external power source and provides clear tactile feedback when the seal is engaged.
The maximum working pressure is 3 bar. The reference standard leakage rate is 10⁻⁴ mbar·L/s (10⁻⁵ Pa·m³/s). Devices with lower leakage rates can be supplied upon request, depending on the testing method, testing temperature, testing pressure, and the quality of the customer-supplied sample — including surface treatment of the sealing surface, roughness, and dimensional tolerances. The operating temperature range is +5°C to +80°C. The sealing medium is oil-free, dry air or other non-corrosive gases.
The product body is manufactured from aluminum alloy with an anodized surface treatment, providing corrosion resistance and a durable finish for industrial use. The standard sealing material is nitrile rubber (NBR). Alternative sealing materials can be selected according to specific application requirements, such as compatibility with particular test media or temperature extremes.

Apply test pressure;
After the test, rotate the quick connector back 90° and remove it.
WBM connectors are used in manufacturing and quality control environments where straight pipes and tubular profiles require pressure or vacuum verification. Typical applications include automotive tubing assemblies, HVAC refrigerant lines, pneumatic system piping, heat exchanger tubes, and industrial fluid transfer components. Enterprise customers in the automotive, HVAC, and industrial equipment sectors use these connectors for both incoming inspection and end-of-line testing, where rapid sealing and non-damaging contact are essential for throughput and product quality.
The connection procedure consists of four steps. First, insert the test piece into the WBM series quick connector until it reaches the minimum insertion length (Lmin). Second, rotate the quick connector handle by 90 degrees to engage the connection seal. Third, apply the test pressure through the media inlet (Port B, G1/8″). Fourth, after the test is complete, rotate the handle back 90 degrees to release the seal and remove the connector from the test piece.
When placing an order, business buyers should confirm and specify the following information: (a) part number, (b) pressure range, (c) test medium and required leakage rate, (d) temperature range, (e) space requirements, and (f) test piece details or CAD drawings. If a suitable connector is not found in the standard range, special sizes and configurations can be customized according to customer requirements.
The WBM series covers a sealing range from 0.80 mm to 31.0 mm in outer diameter, divided into 26 models across four outline dimension sizes. Each model accommodates a specific diameter range, as listed in the specification table.
The maximum working pressure is 3 bar. For applications requiring higher pressure levels, alternative connector series should be evaluated based on the specific test requirements.
No. The NBR sealing ring compresses radially against the pipe outer wall with evenly distributed contact pressure, designed to avoid scoring or deformation of the test pipe fittings.
Yes. While the standard sealing material is nitrile rubber (NBR), alternative materials can be selected according to specific application requirements, such as compatibility with particular test media or extended temperature ranges.
